Men's Residential Program Graduation: May 4th

May 4th, Carriage Town Ministries was pleased to announce the graduation of Jack Huffman from the New Horizons Men’s Rehabilitation Program. The commencement service was held in the Carriage Town Ministries Chapel, attended by friends, family, and staff. Mrs. Lois St. Clair offered opening remarks and Introductions. Don Andrews and Jordan Williams, Men’s Ministry offered words of encouragement. Jack told the gathering,” Accepting Christ has completely changed my life. I understand how my addiction and related behavior was a result of being separated from God. Christ lives in me now and He has given me the strength to overcome.” Jack is assisting in the Men’s Ministry while working for his mentor, Don Andrews in the Tim Hortons Chain. We are so proud of Jack and we hope God continues to bless you.

Annual Volunteer Luncheon

There is not a rescue mission in the country that could operate without volunteers. Carriage Town Ministries hosted their Annual Volunteers Luncheon April 11th. Over 50 volunteers and staff attended the program. Led by executive director, Lois St. Clair, the staff served lunch to the volunteers that selflessly offer of themselves to serve the at risk community. After the opening ceremonies and prayers; lunch was served and the volunteers in attendance were than honored, receiving Awards of Recognition from their respective department heads. Ms. Carmen Venetsky shared her inspirational testimony with those in attendance. Joanne Rhodes, herself a volunteer provided the uplifting musical renditions bringing the program to a close. Although Carriage Town Ministries has been blessed with various volunteer groups through out the year Ms. Trina Frazier, seen presenting an Award of Recognition expressed concern that she is in dire need of regular volunteers who can commit to one or two hours a week helping out in the clothing or food storage areas. If you would like to volunteer, just access the volunteers link on this website and someone from our organization will be in contact.

The Ladies Auxiliary Luncheon was held on March 14th, and the weather cooperated providing spring like conditions. Evelyn Bailey, chairperson opened the meeting after welcoming all in attendance. The meeting addressed the need to outreach into the community, bringing more active members into the auxiliary. During these times of economic chaos, in Michigan; Carriage Town Ministries needs the support and prayers of the auxiliary to meet the needs of the community. Joanne Rhodes provided the inspirational music for the March meeting. After department heads provided their updates, Mrs. Lois St. Clair provided the luncheons closing remarks. The next luncheon meeting of the Auxiliary will be June 13th at 11:30. Hope to see you there!
