Our dining room seats 100 guests. In 2006, we served almost
60,000 meals including the hundreds and hundreds of working
poor, seniors and other needy families we provide for monthly.
Our Director of Family Services provides for all of the physical
needs of our guests and neighborhood clients.
Between the Men's Mission and the Family Center, we provided;
in 2006, over 25,000 nights of safe housing. The men's dormitory
houses 60 men and 8 residents committed to a one year recovery
program. The Family Center has provisions to shelter 35 women
and children. The day room in the Men's Mission offers shelter
during the day when our guests are not going to appointments,
in computer classes or looking for work.
Last year Carriage Town Ministries distributed almost 120,000
articles of clothing to the seniors, working poor, needy,
or homeless. These clothes were all donated by people just
like you. Old coats that no longer fit, leftovers from a
garage sale or just touched to help someone less fortunate.
Everything was made available completely free of charge.
has
been helping develop the necessary skills for employment
among clients and residents. It provides programs teaching;
elementary reading, writing and comprehension, vocabulary,
computer skills, resume writing, typing and other skills
necessary in today's job market. Our Director with years
of teaching experience offers all of these programs free
of charge to anyone who wishes to learn. Finish all of the
programs and there is even a computer that is awarded to
you upon completion.
