On June 28, The Flint Journal reported that the residents of Flint are fleeting the city faster than almost any other large city in the nation. The city has lost 6.3% of its population since 2000.

Every day, it seems, there are more stories of hardship in our community. I'm sure you're receiving many requests from worthwhile ministries and organizations trying to help those in need. Personally, I'm sometimes overwhelmed by those requests.

Here at Carriage Town, we're not eligible for state and federal funding because we preach the Gospel. As a faith-based ministry, we're also not eligible for 80% of foundation grants.

So once a month we "pass the offering plate" to kind friends like you with a letter describing the most urgent needs of the homeless and working poor. We're so deeply grateful when you respond, because we literally could not help them without you!

Four times a year, we send you the Messenger to show you the miracle of lives being changed and influensed on a daily basis by your contributions. That includes the basics of food, clothing, and safe beds, of course.

Thank you again for choosing to support Carriage Town Ministries, caring for the poor right here at home. And if you haven't stopped by the Mission to see your compasssion in action, please do. You don't know what you're missing! Call Carmen Venetsky at 810-233-8787 today to schedule a tour. And if your church or organization would like to schedule an inspiring speaker from the Mission, please call Tom Knight at 810-233-6015.
